Ever wonder what you need to take to Japan with you? Here is my holiday checklist! Sorry this is quite female-orientated!
Essentials
- Yen/Money (Japan is a cash society. I recommend taking cash with you.)
- Passport
- Visa (From the UK, a Visa is not needed. Make sure you have one otherwise.)
- ID cards (Driving License)
- Credit/Debit Cards
- Purse/Wallet
- Medication (Check what's legal! Codeine and such is not!)
- Plane Tickets/Boarding passes
- Maps/Plans/Print-out of travel insurance
- Mobile phone (02 works in Japan but not sure about others.)
- Contact numbers (Hotel etc)
- Camera/Charger/Case/Memory card
On the flight
- MP3 player
- Headphones (some planes need special ones)
- Nintendo DS/3DS/PSP and charger/games
- Travel pillow
- Eyemask/ear plugs
- Drink/Sweets (buy them after security)
- Clothing (Really depends on the weather!)
- Socks/Tights/Leggings
- Underwear
- Nightwear
- Comfortable shoes
- Hairbrush
- Hair straighteners (Hairdryers from the UK usually don't work in Japan. Hotels will have them. GHD's work in Japan)
- Towel/Flannel
- Swimming costume
- Comfortable bag/backpack
- Umbrella/waterproofs (hopefully you won't need them!)
- Luggage tags/padlock attached to case
- Leave space for your purchases!
- Shampoo/Conditioner
- Deodorant (recommend roll-on for luggage)
- Toothbrush/paste
- Make-up
- Sun-cream
- Moisturiser
- Tissues
- Wet wipes/face wipes
- Razor/shaving cream (Not in hand luggage!)
- Nail varnish/remover
- Tampons/Pads
